This is for the Newhaven Public Art EOI, It will be a collaborative work with fellow ceramicist Heather Fahnle of Mosaics By the Bay. Designed to look like the swimmer is diving into the distant water, diving figure will be 5 metres by 2 metres, made from corten steel from a 5 metre diameter mosaic base, hand made ceramic tiles will reflect local bay dwellers with flowing swirling water. Cross your fingers we get through to the next stage.

I have submitted this Image. https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/arts-and-culture/art-outdoors/public-art-melbourne/opportunities/Pages/hero-apartment-building.aspx As part of the city’s reactivation program, City of Melbourne in partnership with Hero Apartment Building, is delighted to offer $5000 for a new public art commission.
Proposals for a new, static 2D artwork that embraces a sense of optimism, celebration or hope for the future are encouraged for the first round of this new opportunity. A selection panel, chaired by the City of Melbourne, will choose one artwork to be fabricated and installed on the facade of the high-profile Hero Apartment Building on the corner of Russell and Little Collins streets, Melbourne. This opportunity is open to artists who are residents of Victoria. |
